The Formers: An Introduction

Violent extremism is a challenge faced by every geography and demographic. Society focuses on the differences between these groups - their religion, their geography, their ideology, or their ethnicity - but ignore the similarities, particularly those facing youths at risk from radicalization. The Formers are a group of former extremists and activists who all share a mission in initiating a global conversation on how best to understand and prevent young people from becoming radicalized and how to de-radicalize others who are currently engaged in violent extremism.
Everyone needs empowerment. An outlet for adventure. A sense of purpose and belonging. An identity.
